Lazy Chango was born as an autobiographical, anecdotal entity.

Despite his single mom's disapproval, as a child, Lazy Chango's creator was intent on being an artist. Consequently, he acquired a reputation within his family for being "lazy." He was considered the problematic child who didn't want to pull his weight. Art was not at all seen as an industrious or worthwhile endeavor.

While serving in the U.S. Army, perhaps because of his gait and posture at the time, "Chango" (Monkey) was a nickname given to him by some of his cohorts. He identified with it because of evolutionary reasons. He has also often reflected on some of the peculiar facial, bodily, and behavioral similarities with his simian relatives. In addition, he happens to be an Earth Monkey in the Chinese Zodiac.

As a result of the aforementioned, Lazy Chango came to life.

Regardless of life's vicissitudes, Lazy Chango has learned to appreciate the challenges we face each day and to face them with a positive, relaxed attitude. He is well aware that the challenges we face today are growing lessons for our future selves.

We all face these challenges and shouldn't allow them to bog us down. Our goal here at Lazy Chango is to create fun, high-quality products to remind us of that, and to compliment that free-spirited soul of ours—that soul that gets a chance to shine when we allow it to.
